Today is the first day of Summer, can you believe it? It came so fast!
Nothing but warm days ahead. I love this time of year for dating. Everyone seems to be in a sunny mood, acting more social, and even slipping away from the office a bit early. In honor of the longer days, shorter nights, and the easy freedom that comes with them, I thought I’d share some fun ideas for dates that don’t revolve around dinner.
1. Picnic at a park or the beach. It’s casual, inexpensive and gets you out of the “what restaurant should we try next” rut. This is also great date to plan as a treat for the guy you’re seeing. Especially if you want to give back in a creative, feminine way. Show off the new sundress you just bought as you relax together on a blanket in the sun. A bottle of wine, fruit, cheese and crackers is really all you need! Keep it simple.
2. Go Kayaking in a beautiful setting. If you live near the ocean or a lake, this is a fantastic way to spend the day getting to know someone without the pressure that comes with a dinner date.
3. Attend a live, outdoor music event. Most cities offer live music in the summer, so check out the local museums and parks for their line up. Most of the time these events are free to the public. The festive atmosphere creates a mood for conversation and romance, and creates a unique memory for the future. Music under the stars? I can’t think of a better date.
I’ll be sharing more ideas for summer dating with you in the next couple of months. In the meantime, get creative, get out into the sunshine and the warm, summer evenings for a casual approach to your dating life.

Happy Summer everyone!
